  I’veonlyjustgotbackfromashortjourneytoThehague,I’mathomealonethisevening,becausepaandmaarestillinprincenhage.sonowisagoodopportunitytotellyouaboutthisandthat.

  IleftherelastTuesday,nowit’sFridayevening.havebeeninThehagueatmrTersteeg’s,mauve’sandDebock’s.mrTersteegwasveryfriendlyandsaidhethoughtI’dprogressed.sinceI’ddonethewholeseriesofexercicesaufusain1-60again,Itookitalong.Anditwascertainlyinresponsetothisthathesaidit,becauseheattachesacertainvaluetomydoingthem,atanyrate,aswellastomycopyingafigurebymillet,boughtonorothersnowandthen,andmostpeoplethinkthatlessworthwhile.

  ofheads,fullofcharacter,manandwomanfromscheveningen.weissenbruchhad,amongotherthings,adrawingofwaterlilies,sosimple,sofullofstyle,sofullofknowledgeandlovethatmanydrawingsbyotherscouldn’tcomparewithit.still,onecouldclearlyseeatthisexhibitionthatthereareagreatmanycleverlandscapepaintersamongtheyoungergeneration,Duchattel,amongothers,andneuhuys.
