　　中国农历年的岁首称为春节。

是中国人民最隆重的传统节日，也象征团结、兴旺，对未来寄托新的希望的佳节。

据记载，中国人民过春节已有4千多年的历史，它是由虞舜兴起的。

公元前两千多年的一天，舜即天子位，带领着部下人员，祭拜天地。

从此，人们就把这一天当作岁首，算是正月初一。

据说这就是农历新年的由来，后来叫春节。

春节过去也叫元旦。

春节所在的这一月叫元月。

　　少数民族过春节：

　　藏族除夕那天，人们穿上艳丽服装，戴着奇形怪状的假面具，用唢呐、海螺、大鼓奏乐，奉行隆重而又盛大的“跳神会”。

小伙子们狂　　舞高歌，表示除旧迎新，驱邪降福。

到了新年早晨，妇女们便去背“吉祥水”，预祝新的一年吉祥如意。

　　布依族除夕之夜全家人通宵达旦地在水塘边守岁。

天一亮，姑娘们便争先恐后地打水。

谁最先挑回第一担水，谁就是最勤劳、最幸福的姑娘。

傣族泼水节是傣族的新年节日，是傣族一年中最盛大的传统节目。

谷雨开始那天定为“泼水节”。

在三四天的节日里，人们相互泼水，表示洗去身上的陈年旧土，祝福新的一年幸福平安。

　　民族风俗：

　　汉族、满族和朝鲜族过春节的风俗差不多，全家团圆，人们吃年糕、水饺以及各种丰盛的饭菜、张灯结彩，燃放鞭炮，并互相祝福。

春节期间的庆祝活动丰富多样，有舞狮耍龙的，也有踩高跷、跑旱船的。

在有些地区人们沿袭过去祭祖敬神活动，祈求新的一年风调雨顺，平安丰收。

藏族是过藏历年。

回族、维吾尔族、哈萨克族等，是过“古尔邦节”。

春节也是苗族、僮族、瑶族等的盛大节日。

　　春节习俗：

　　就北京地区来说，腊月初八家家户户都要泡腊八醋，腊月二十三开始就是小年了。

民谣讲：

“腊八粥过几天，哩哩拉拉二十三。

二十三、糖瓜粘，二十四、扫房子，二十五、炸豆腐，二十六、炖白肉，二十七、宰公鸡，二十八、把面发，二十九、蒸馒头，三十晚上熬一宿，大年初一扭一扭。

”北京人从二十三忙活到除夕，守岁守一宿，年初一大早去拜年。
