您最近有一篇专栏文章,谈到了在工作中因害羞不敢大声发言的问题。

但要让我自吹自擂,宣扬自己曾经做过的事情,有点难度。

你朋友的建议非常明智。
但在听从朋友的建议之前,你应该了解什么才是个人品牌。
与普遍存在的一种误解不同,建立品牌与自我吹嘘是完全不同的两码事。

“人们一听到‘自我推销’或‘自我营销’这些词,通常都会退缩,因为他们认为这就是要自我吹嘘,而他们并不想这么做。
实际上,创建个人品牌是一个教育的过程,是要分享信息,参与讨论。

互联网出现之前,打造个人品牌并没有实际意义。

把你的专业技能放到大标题中,而不要把它放到页面的最下面。

康补充说:
“公司不论从外部还是内部寻找新人才时,通常都会去LinkedIn,所以你需要在个人资料中明确说明自己能做出哪些贡献。
”她还建议主动申请参加跨部门项目,“这样你才能向你所在部门之外的人展示自己的能力,也可以在没有上司出席的会议上发言。
”
除了LinkedIn,互联网还提供了其他各种方式,可以让你所在的公司与行业内的许多人了解你的个人品牌。
例如,康建议:
“向行业网站与出版物投稿,或者关注你所在领域内有一定影响力的博客,同时发表经过深思熟虑、有建设性的评论,来展示自己的能力。
然后你可以把这些网址链接到你的Facebook主页或公司内部网,或者把链接告诉Twitter上的粉丝——不要说:
‘看看我这篇文章,很精彩!
’而应该这么说:
‘这里有一些有关XYZ的观点,大家可能会感兴趣。
’”
另外一种数字品牌推广方式:
“可以考虑建一个自己的网站,就以自己的名字作为网址,你可以在上面发表自己的工作成果,或者分享你对于所在领域各个方面的想法与分析,”康建议。
“你可以在LinkedIn的个人资料中添加网站的链接,这样一来,人们便能更详细地了解你和你的工作。
”
一旦开始建立一份可以广泛传播的信誉,你很有可能会发现更多新的机会接踵而来。
而此时,你那位总爱窃取他人成果的上司也只有干瞪眼的份儿。
康说:
“分享你的知识,这是你自己的义务。
只有这样,有需要的人才能找到你。
我的许多客户最初都认为,品牌建设其实就是自我吹嘘。
然而,当他们发现,个人品牌建设实际上是与整个世界建立联系时,他们才恍然大悟。
”
