Nationally,thecensusshowed11.8percentofthepopulationwasAsian--andthatfigurewasincreasing.

“ThefiguresarehigherthanIwouldhavethoughtafewyearsback,”MrSpoonleysaid.“AndthehealthcaresystemisattractingAsianworkers.”

ThearticlealsoshowedthatKiwishadoverallbecomemoreacceptingofmigrant(移民)communitiesandparticularofAsianpeoples.Thathadbeenahugelynoticeablechange,MrSpoonleysaid.
