Theresearchersfollowedthegroupsforafullyear.Comparedtothecontrolgroup,thethreeintervention（干预）groupsmadehealthychangesintheirdiet.Thosewhochangedtheirfitnesshabitsfirstsignificantlyincreasedtheamountofexercisetheyreceiveddailycomparedtotheothergroupsafterfourmonths.However,attheendoftheyear,thegroupthatchangedbothdietandexerciseatthesametimewastheonlyonethatmetthenationallyrecommendedtargetsforbothexerciseandnutritionlevels,whilethosewhoworkedonimprovingtheirnutritionfirstwereunabletomeettherecommendedlevelsoffitnessafterayear.Theresearcherssuspectthatchangestodietareeasiertomakethanchangestophysicalactivity.
