Theinvestigation,ledbyThereseHesketh,aprofessoratUniversityCollegeLondon（UCL）CentreforInternationalHealthandDevelopment,pointedthefingeratextremecompetitivenessinChina’seducationsystem,fromtheonsetofprimaryschool.

“Thecompetitiveandpunitiveeducationalenvironmentleadstohighlevelsofstressandpsychosomaticsymptoms,”theauthorssay.

“Measurestoreduceunnecessarystressonchildreninschoolsshouldbeintroducedurgently.”
