AfterArmstronggraduatedfromPurdueUniversityin1955andservedintheUnitedStatesNavy(海军),hejoinedtheastronomical(天文学的)groupwhichwaslatercalledNASA.Hisfirst

spacetaskwasGeminiVIIIwhereheandDavidScottbecamethefirstastronautstomaketwospaceshipsstayintheEarth'sorbit(轨道).
