After2008BeijingOlympicGames,anothersignificantevent--the2010WorldExpowillbeheldinChina.ThecountriesoftheworldpaidmuchattentiontothisExpo.PeoplefromallworkofsocietyarefullofconfidenceandexpectationsforChinatoholdsuchanExpo.SingaporePrimeMinisterLeeHsienLoongsaidthattheShanghaiWorldExpowillbean"

1.TocreateagoodexteriorenvironmentforthedevelopmentofChina’seconomy

HoldingtheWorldExpo2010hasgreatimportanceintermsofimprovinginternationalimageandstatusofourcountryandacceleratingthedevelopmentofeconomy.Chinaisoneofthosecountrieswhodevelopfastestandhasgreatpotentialineconomy.MarketizationandinternationalizationofChina’seconomyhasincreasinglybecomethefocusofattentionaroundtheworld.Inthepasttwentyyears,ChinaactualtotalGDPincreasedby6.3times;

realpercapitalGDPincreasedby5-fold;

importandexporttradevolumeincreasedby12.4-fold,China’sremarkableachievementswaswitnessedbythewholeworld.Athesametime,Chinaisalsoacountrywhoattractmostoverseasinvestmentintheworld.China’seconomywillstilldevelopatahighspeedof7%aboutorso.andturningintoamostattractiveinvestmentarea.Until2010,thetotalGDPofChinamayreach19trillionyuan.

HoldingtheWorldExpo2010willenhanceChina’sinternationalreputationandhaveabetterknowledgeofShanghai,whichhelpstoincreasethedegreeofmodernizationofShanghai.ExpobeheldinShanghai,ChinawillmaketheworldunderstandChinamore,andwitnessedgreatchangesinChina,andalsoacceleratetheMarketizationandopennessofChina’seconomy,Chinawillfurtherparticipateinthedevelopmentoftheworldeconomygoing.HeldtheWorldExpoinShanghaicanimproveChina'

stourismindustryisoftenthemostdirectbeneficiary.WorldExpo2000inHanover,Germanywhereitattracted18millionpeoplearoundtheworldtovisitduringthe153days.2010ShanghaiWorldExpowillalsodevelopnewtourismproducts,theExpowillbeveryattractiveasaresort,andattractdomesticandforeigntouristspourin.Itwasestimatedthatmorethan70%ofvisitorswilltravelaroundaftervisitingExpo,whichcreatesmanygoodopportunitiesfortouroperatorinShanghaiandsurroundingareatocombinenewproduct.ConsideringthenumberoftouristtoShanghaioverthepastyearsalongwiththenumberofpopulationandtheconditionofeconomicdevelopmentinShanghaiandsurroundingareas,etc.expertsforeseethenumberofvisitorsto2010WorldExpowillexceed70millionpeople,whichwillsetupanewExporecordinthepast150years.ThesignificanceinenlargetheinfluenceofExpoandpromotingthedevelopmentofinternationalExpobusinessspeakitforitself.ItwaspreliminaryestimatedthatthedirectrevenueoftourismofShanghaiwillreach14.42billionyuan.

Someexpertspredictedthatforeachadditional1000squaremetersexhibitionspace,willcreatenearly100jobopportunities.TheHanoverExpoin1996creatednearly100thousandjobs.ThesuccessofapplicationforExpobringtremendousemploymentopportunitiesforShanghai.

2.5TopromotethedevelopmentofChina'
