Sofar,sogood.Thisisnotrocketscience.Defensivepessimistspreparecarefullyandconsiderwhatmightgowrong,whetheratwork,onadateoreveninasportsgame.Itmakessensetohaveaback-upplan.TherearemanysayingsinEnglishurgingcaution.Forexample,“Don'tputallyoureggsinonebasket,”and“Don'tcountyourchickensuntiltheyhatch.“Tohaveaconfidentandoptimisticapproachtolife'sproblemsisgood.ButlistentowhatWoodyAlien,theAmericancomediansays,“Confidenceiswhatyouhavebeforeyouunderstandtheproblem.”

Thereareprosandconstobeinganoptimistandapessimist.Don’tfeelbadifyouseetheglasshalfempty.Youarearealist.Butlightenupandhookupwithsomeonewhoseesthesameglasshalffull.
