Therewasasignificantdifferencebetweenthegroups.Thoseinthehigh-distractionconditionate69percentmoresnacksthantheno-distractiongroup,andthoseinthelow-distractiongroupeating28percentmore（thanthoseintheno-distractiongroup）.
Asecondexperiment,involvingafurther63people,wassimilar,butinvolvedwatchingTV（inthedistractioncondition）andeatingsoupandbread.ThisfoundthatthosewhowatchedTVwhileeatingtheirlunchate19percentmorebiscuitslateronthanthosewhohadeatentheirmealwithoutanydistractions.
