The9thPan-PacificPortsSeminarhascompletelyaccomplisheditsgoalsasscheduled.Todayistheclosingday.First,pleaseallowmetoexpressourgratitudetoeverygentlemenaddressedontheseminarfortheirwittyremarksandbrilliantviewsimpressingusstrongly.Wealsofeelgratefultoeveryladyandgentlemanwhotookadvantageofvariousformstocommunicatefortheirspecialstylesandwaystoenrichthecontentoftheconference.What’smore,we’dliketothankChinesegovernmentfortheirfullsupportandassistancetotheconference,whichisessentialfortheconference’ssuccess.

firstly,IwillextendoursincerecongratulationsontheopeningofInternationalUrbanWaterConservationWorkshoponbehalfofthegovernmentandthepeopleofDalian.Letusexpressourwarmlywelcometoallthefriendshomeandabroadtobepresentatthemeeting.

Dalianisoneofthecitieswithaseverewatershortageproblem.Since1954,Dalianhasmadegreatcontributiontotheensuranceofthesafewatersupplytothecity.FortwiceDalianhasbeenconferredhonorableawardsonmodalcityofwaterconservationbythestate.Butcomparedwiththeadvancedcitieshomeandabroad,westillhavealongwaytogo.Thisworkshopprovidesuswithanexcellentopportunitytomodestlylearntheiradvancedexperiences,carefullycompareandfindourweakpointsandthuspromoteourwork.ThePeople’sGovernmentofDalianhaslistedthewaterproblemasoneoftheprioritiesOfurbandevelopmentoutline/sketchandwehavebeentakingeffectivemeasurestofurtherimprovethecity’swaterconservation.Whilebuildingwaterconservancyprojects,thecitygovernmentproposedtosticktothepolicyof“broadensourcesofincomeandreduceexpenditure.”we’llnotintheslightestdegree,neglecttheworkofwaterconservationinthemitigatorysituationofwatersupplyforthecity,andstriveforbuildingDalianintoacityofwaterconservation.

TheeconomyofDalianisdevelopedeconomyandhassolidfoundation,whichsuppliesavigoroussupporttotheport’sdevelopment.NowDalianporthasbecomethelargestcomprehensivecommercialseaport,thelargestimportandexportseaportofgrain,thelargesttransferseaportofpetroleumandfluidchemicalproductsandoneofthemostimportantseaportsforforeigntradeinthenortheastpartofChina.
