September11Attacks:

ItisaseriesofcoordinatedterroristattacksupontheUnitedStatesonSeptember11,2001.Onthatmorning,19militantsassociatedwithal-Qaedahijackedfourcommercialairlinersandusedthemasweapons.TwooftheairlinerswereintentionallyflownintotheTwinTowersoftheWorldTradeCenterinNewYorkCity.Bothbuildingscollapsedwithintwohours.EveryoneonboardandmanyothersworkingintheTwinTowerswerekilled.ThethirdairlinerwascrashedintothePentagon.ThefourthplanecrashedintoafieldinruralPennsylvaniaafteritspassengersandflightcrewtriedtoretakecontroloftheplane.2,973victimsandthe19hijackersdiedasaresultofthehorrificattacks.
