African-Americanfemalewriters,hasthehighestreputation.From1970whenshepublishedherdebutTheBluestEye(1970),shecontinuedtopublisheightnovels,theyareSongofSolomon(1977),Sula(1973),Tarbaby(1981),Beloved(1987),Jazz

(1992),Paradise(1999),Love(2003),AMercy(2008).Theninenovelsdetermined

herpositionintheliteraryworldandpromotedtheAfrican-Americanfemaleliterature

toanunprecedentednewheight.In1993whenToniMorrisonwassixty-twoyearsold,ShewasawardedtheNobelPrizeinliterature.Sheisthefirstonethatgetsthishonor

asanAfrican-Americanwriter,even,afemalewriter.Thisisagreathonortothe

wholeAfrican-Americanfemaleliterature,forthehardtimesAfrican-American

femaleliteraturehaseverexperienced.Blackwomen'sliteraryworksandtheirliberationmovementsinfluencedandpromotedeachother.Blackwomen'sliteraryworksturnedintoimportantresourceswhichconstructanddevelopblackwomen'ssubjectiveconsciousnessandplayedanindispensableroleinBlackwomen'sphysicalandmentaldevelopment.MeanwhileBlackwomen'ssocialmovementsalsobecamethecontinuousflowofpowertoBlackwomen'sliteraryworks.Justundersuchculturalbackground,ToniMorrisonproducedherseriesofworks.SheselectedhersubjectmatterfromtheAfrican-Americanhistoryandrealfife,committedtomaintainandcarryforwardblackcultureandexploredblackpeople'shistoricalfateandspiritualworld,especiallyblackwomen.

Firstly,itisastoryofGothic.Itextractedafullmeasureofsuspenseandhorror.Ilikesuchbooksverymuch.Secondly,Iwanttogetmoreinformationaboutblackslavery.Finally,thisbookiseasytobeunderstand.SoIchoosethisbook.

yet-unnamedgirlandtwolittleboys.OnherwaytoOhioshegavebirthtoanother

daughter,Denver.Gooddaysweresoshortthattheslaveownerschoolteachercametocatchherbeforeshewasawareofthis.Sethedecidedtomakeherbabiesfreeby

killingthem,butshewasstoppedaftercuttingthethroatofthe"crawling-already"
