ThistextisanabridgementtakenfromTIMEOct1,2006.ItisoriginallyaninterviewconductedbyBillSaporitowithSandyWeill,theformerCitigroup(美国花旗银行集团)chairman.SandyWeillwasaWallStreetupstartfromBrooklyn50yearsago.Sincethen,hegotrichandfamous,buildinganempirethatculminatedwiththeTravelers-Citicorpmergerin1998.IntheprocesshewalkedawayonceandbustedupwithfriendslikeJamieDimon.Weill,73,haswrittenTheRealDeal,onhisdealmakingandhowthingscouldhavegonesmoother.Intheinterview,hespokewithBillaboutmendingfencesandhowtokeepmarriagesstrong.
