would/hadrather…（thandosth）.:

Cf.rather…than:
意为“宁愿…而不，与其说…还不如说”，rather后的成分表示肯定概念，than后的成分表否定概念
a.Iwouldratheryousettletheprobleminprivatethanbylaw.我宁愿你把这件事私下了结，而不要去诉诸法律。
b.Itisratherpleasantthantasteful.与其说它文雅，不如说它赏心悦目。
