thingslikebrightlightsandcrowdedspaces.
Wealsocollectedandactivatedpower-ups.
ThiswasanythingIcoulddoonevenmyworstday
tofeeljustalittlebitgood,
justalittlebitproductive.
Thingslikecuddlingmydogfor10minutes,
orgettingoutofbedandwalkingaroundtheblockjustonce.
53Nowthegamewasthatsimple:
Adoptasecretidentity,recruityourallies,
battlethebadguys,activatethepower-ups.
Butevenwithagamesosimple,
withinjustacoupledaysofstartingtoplay,
thatfogofdepressionandanxiety
wentaway.Itjustvanished.Itfeltlikeamiracle.

tamiraclecurefortheheadaches
orthecognitivesymptoms.
Thatlastedformorethanayear,
anditwasthehardestyearofmylifebyfar.

Theytalkedaboutfeelingbetterunderstoodbytheirfriendsandfamily.
Andtheyeventalkedaboutfeelinghappier,
eventhoughtheywereinpain,eventhoughtheyweretackling
thetoughestchallengeoftheirlives.
