LastyeartheWorldHealthOrganization(WHO)warnedagainstusinge-cigarettes,sayingtherewasnoevidencetoprovetheyweresafeorhelpedsmokersbreakthehabit.TheWHOsaidpeoplewhosmokede-cigarettesbreathedinafinefogofnicotineintothelungs.

Nearlyathirdofpeoplequestionedinthesurveythinkthate-cigarettesshouldbeallowedinplaceswheresmokingisforbidden,becausetheydon’tproducesmoke,but46percentdisagree.Menwhowereawareoftheavailabilityofe-cigarettesweremorelikelythanwomentosaytheyshouldbeachoiceavailabletosmokerswhowanttoquit.Youngpeople,aged18-29,andsingleswerethegroupsmostopentotryinge-cigarettes.Smokingisthesinglelargestcauseofpreventabledeathworldwide,accordingtotheWHO.
