Thefirstisscreeningeverystudentusingauniversalassessmentthatalmosteveryonetakesratherthanrelyingonaseparateexam.IthasbeenemployedinBrowardCountyanditworkedreallywellforpoorandminorityyoungsters.
Thesecondisanalyzingscoresattheschoollevelinsteadofthedistrictlevel,sothatitisfairforablestudentsinevery“feederschools”.Thismakesthequalifying(有资格的)populationsdiverseinawaythatdoesn’tfavoradvantagedkids.That’swhytheUniversityofTexasoffersadmissiontothetop7%ofgraduatesofeveryhighschoolinthestateratherthanthetop7%statewide.
