Youmightthinkthatthefoodatapolarstationwouldbegross.You’dbewrong.Wehadtwocookswhomadedeliciousmealseveryday.AtPalmerStation,freshwaterwasprecious.Meltingglaciericeforwaterusedalotoffuel,sowepurifiedthesaltyseawater.

Onweekends,wehikedorskiedontheglacierbehindthestationortookshortboattrips.Tobeabletoexplore,everyonefirstwenttoSurvivalSchool.Whenwewereontheglacier,westayedonmarkedpathstoavoidfallingintodeepcracks

Mostpeople(scientistsincluded)believethatwildhorsepopulationsneedtobecomealotsmaller.TheBLM,whichkeepstrackofwildhorses,suggeststhatwehaveabout14,000morehorsesthancanexistinbalancewiththeecosystemsthattheylivein.Thiscausesahugeproblemthathastobedealtwithbothenvironmentallyandpolitically.Asolutionneedstobefoundnotonlytopreservethespeciesbuttoalsokeepitspopulationundercontrol.Andthen,politicallythisneedstobedoneinsomeway.
