Prerequisites

Beforeyoustartinstallingthisscenario,youmustinstalltheprerequisitebuildingblocks.Formoreinformation,seetheBuildingBlockPrerequisitesMatrixforSAPSupplyNetworkCollaboration（SAPSNC）rapid-deploymentsolutionforsuppliercollaboration.Youwillfindthisdocumentinthecontentlibrary,attachedtotheSep-by-StepGuide.

3Configuration

DefiningMRPType

Use

IntheSupplier-ManagedInventory（SMI）scenario,thedemanddataiscreatedandprocessedbyusingthebackendintegrationreportRSMIPROACT2.InordertoavoidthattheSMI-relatedmaterialsareincludedinotherMRPruns,youneedtodefineanewMRPtypeandassignittothematerials.ThisMRPtypecanalsobeusedasaselectiveparameterwhenyoutransferthedemanddata.

AstheSMIbackendintegrationreportdirectlyreadsthedemanddataforSMIpurposes,anMRPrunmustnotcreatereplenishmentelementsforSMImaterials.InprincipleitwoulddonoharmiftheMRPplanningruncreatedpurchasingrequisitionsorschedulingagreementlineitems.However,iftheseelementsarecreated,thereisahighriskthattheywillbeprocessedbyotherfunctionsorusers.Therefore,useacopyoftheplanningtypeNDasdescribedbelow,toexcludethosematerialsfromplanningandtogroupthosematerialsas“SMImaterials”.Thisexcludesmaterialsfromplanning.

Formaterialsinscenariopurchasingorderprocessingandreleaseprocessing,useacopyofplanningtypePDasthosematerialsarestilledplannedinSAPERPsystem.

ToruntheSMI,RPorPOscenario,youmustfilltheBasicData1tab（materialgroup）,thePurchasingtab（dependsonthematerialtype）,MRP1,MRP2,MRP3,MRP4tabandtheAccounting1tab.Asitisassumedthatthesesettingshavealreadybeenmaintained,therefore,thefollowinginstructionsonlyincludethosesettingsthathavetobemadespecificallyfortheSMI,RPorPOscenario.
