Onethingtokeepinmindinallofthis,thebudgetproposalisjustaproposal.Thepresidentdoesn`tactuallysetthecountry`sbudget.That`ssomethingthatCongressdoes.
Well,nextup,Greeceisinthemiddleofaneconomiccrisis.It`sbeengoingonsince2010.Youprobablyheardusmentionitseveraltimesonourshow.OtherEuropeancountrieshaveofferedbailoutstoGreece.Butinordertogetthem,Greece`sgovernmenthastomakesomespendingcuts.
Thatmeanscutstoworkers`salariesandtheirretirement,theirpensions.ManyGreekcitizensaren`thappyaboutthis.
Thousandsofpeoplegatheredinfrontofparliamentovertheweekend.Theywereprotestingagainstthenewestcuts.Thoseproteststurnedviolentwithcrowdsthrowingrocksandfirebombsatpolice.Officialssay106officersanddozensofcivilianswereinjuredinthefighting.
