Goodvisionisimportanttoachild’slearningexperience.Accordingtoastudy,upto80percentoflearninghappensthroughsightforchildrenbetween6and18yearsold.Withoutpropereyecare,it’sdifficultforstudentstolearnbetterandsucceed.

SwyersishopingthatbybringingtheorganizationtoArizonahe’llhelpalotmorestudents.Heteamedupwithtwootherorganizationstogetdoctorstovolunteertheirtimewiththegroup.UsinganEyeCare4Kidsmobileclinic,SwyersvisitedAltaE.ButlerElementarySchoolandhasalreadyhelped40students.

Researchhasshownthatchildrenwholearnanewlanguagewhentheyareveryyoungwillnotbelikelytohavea“foreign”accentwhenspeakingadifferentlanguage.Somescientistsalsobelievethatitcantakeupto10,000hoursofstudytomasteranewlanguage.Thiscanbedifficultforadultstoachieve,butyoungchildrencanaccumulate(积累)thosehoursoverseveralyearsastheygrowup.
