soil.thepollutedairdoesgreatharmtopeople’shealth.Thepollutedwater
causesdiseasesanddeath.Whatismore,vegetationhadbeengreatlyreduced
withtherapidgrowthofmoderncities.
Toprotecttheenvironment,governmentsofmanycountrieshavedonealot.
Legislativestepshavebeenintroducedtocontrolairpollution,toprotect
theforestandsearesourcesandtostopanyenvironmentalpollution.
Therefore,governmentsareplayingthemostimportantroleinthe
environmentalprotectiontoday.
Inmyopinion,toprotectenvironment,thegovernmentmusttakeevenmore
concretemeasures.First,itshouldletpeoplefullyrealizetheimportanceof
environmentalprotectionthrougheducation.Second,muchmoreeffortsshould
bemadetoputthepopulationplanningpolicyintopractice,becausemore
peoplemeansmorepeoplemeansmorepollution.Finally,thosewhodestroythe
environmentintentionallyshouldbeseverelypunished.Weshouldletthemknow
thatdestroyingenvironmentmeansdestroyingmankindthemselves.
