MarkingYourAnswers

Intheactualtest,allanswersmustbeenteredinthetestbook（orinthesupervisor’scopyofthetestbookifyouarenotusingaprintformattest）.Ifanswersarebeingrecordedinalargeprinttestbook,thedirectionsformarkinganswersareslightlydifferentbecauseanswersenteredinlargeprinttestbooksarenotmachine-scored.

Ifyouranswersarebeingenteredinalargeprinttestbook,makesureyourmarksareclearandunambiguous.Additionalinstructionsformarkinganswersinlargeprinttestbooksareprovidedwiththelargeprintpracticetests.

Multiple-ChoiceQuestions—SelectOneAnswerChoice

Thesestandardmultiple-choicequestionsrequireyoutoselectjustoneanswerchoicefromalistofoptions.Youwillreceivecreditonlyifyoumarkthesinglecorrectanswerchoiceandnoother.

Multiple-ChoiceQuestions—SelectOneorMoreAnswerChoices

Someofthesequestionsspecifyhowmanyanswerchoicesyoumustselect;othersrequireyoutoselectallthatapply.Ineithercase,toreceivecreditallofthecorrectanswerchoicesmustbemarked.Inprintedversionsofthetest,thesequestionsaredistinguishedbytheuseofasquareboxtoselectananswerchoice.

ColumnFormatQuestions

Thisquestiontypepresentstheanswerchoicesingroups（presentedascolumnsintheprintedversionofthetest）.Youmustpickoneanswerchoicefromeachgroup.Youwillreceivecreditonlyifyoumarkthecorrectanswerchoiceineachgroup.Inthefollowingexample,thereisasentencewithtwoblanks,eachindicatingthatsomethinghasbeenomitted.Foreachquestionofthistype,firstyouwillhearthetextwiththeword“BLANK”inplaceoftheomittedmaterial.Next,youwillhearthetextagain,butinplaceofeachblank,youwillhearthreeletteredoptionsforfillingthatblank.Thesetofletteredoptionsisformattedasboldandenclosedinparentheses.Eachoptionconsistsofawordorphrase.

Forquestionscontainingoneortwoblanks,followingthelistofanswerchoicesareuptoninereadingsofthetext,oneforeachanswerchoicecombination.Thegroupofreadingsbeginswitha“BeginSkippableContent”level-6headingandendswithan“EndSkippableContent”level-6heading.Eachreadingconsistsoftheoptionletterorletters,thewordsorphrasesbeingcombined,andthetextwiththecombinationofthewordsorphrasesinsertedintotheblanks.

Forquestionscontainingthreeblanks,thechoiceswillnotbereadincontextbecauseithasbeendeterminedthatreplayingthequestionforallpossiblecombinationsofanswerchoicesisnotausefulwaytopresentthesequestions.
