botchv.
contraceptiveadj.
lestconj.
sweepingadj.
(1) Thestudy,carriedoutbytheGuttmacherInstituteinNewYorkincollaborationwiththeWorldHealthOrganisation(WHO)andpublishedinaBritishmedicaljournal,theLancet,foundthatmostabortionsoccurindevelopingcountries—35mayear,comparedwithjust7minrichcountries.
Thestudyfoundthat…
carriedoutby…
(2)Ofthe535,000womenwhodiedinchildbirthorfrompregnancy-relatedcomplicationsin2005,99%wereindevelopingcountries,accordingtoanotherreportbyagroupofUNagencies,includingWHO,alsooutthisweek.
1.Theword“botched”(Line5,Paragraph1)mostprobablymeans_____.
[A]awkward
[A]笨拙的
[B]wrong
[B]错误的
[C]backward
[C]落后的
[D]inferior
[A]theabortionratehasnothingtodowithacountry’snationalwealth.
[B]theabortionratehasnothingtodowithacountry’srestrictingmeasuresonabortion.
[C]theabortionratecannotbeloweredthroughthelegalmeasures.
[D]theabortionratecannotbeloweredbytheimplementoftightenedabortionlaws.
3.Theconclusion ofthestudycanbeprovedbythefollowingproofsofferedinthepassageexceptthat_____.
[A]theaboritonrateincountrieswithstrictaboritonlawsishigherthanthatofthecountieswithliberallaws.
[B]therearemuchmoreabortionsoccuringindevelopingcountriesthanindevelopedcountries.
[D]therewasabigincreaseincontraceptiveuseintheregionwhichstillhastheworld’shighestabortionratebetween1995and2005.
[A]botchedproceduresofabortionbetweenrichandpoorcountries
[B]inequalitiesofdevelopmentinpoorcountries
[C]ignoranceofandlittleemphasisonthematernalhealthinpoorcountries
[D]strictabortionlawsinpoorcountries
[A]astudyontheaboritionratebetweendevelopedanddevelopingcountries
[B]astudyontheaboritionlawsindifferentcountries
[C]astudyonthegeneralmaternalhealthconditionindifferentcountries
[D]astudyontheinfluenceoftheaboritonlawsontheabortionrate.
