Unfortunately,somepeoplebiteoilmorethantheycanchew,andstartdoingajobwhichendsinDIYdisaster.Forexample,it’srecommendedthatanythingelectricalshouldbedonebyaqualifiedelectrician,butmanypeopleignorethiswarningandputthemselvesindanger.

AresearcherformtheChineseAcademyofSciences,JiJunhuisaysheandhiscolleagueshavefoundabettersolution.

“WhenthePBSinthebiodegradableplasticcomesincontactwithmicroorganismsorenzymes,theplasticstructurewilldegradeintosmallerpieces,andfinallyitturnsintowaterandcarbondioxide.Thisishowthebreak-downprocessworks.”

PBSisachemicalcomponentthatisthekeytothisnewbiodegradableplastic.Itcanhelptheplasticdegradeintonon-pollutingelements,sothebroken-downplasticfragmentscanbeabsorbedbysoilandwater.

PBSisnotanentirelynewproduct,however,thisChina-madebiodegradableplasticissaferandmoreheat-resistant.AccordingtoJiJun-hui,testinghasshownthat90%ofthisnewbiodegradableplasticcanbedegradedwithin90days.Anditeventakesashorterperiodoftimeifitisburiedinadumpratherthanexposedtoth
