AlthoughAnurudheventuallyreceivedthevaccineheneeded,hisexperienceasababyandthesadrealitythatsomanyotherchildrenaren'tasluckymotivatedhimtotakeaction.ThehighschoolstudentinventedVaxxwagon,aportablevaccine-carryingdevicethatgeneratesitsownpowertokeeplifesavingmedicinescoolasthey'redeliveredtoremoteareasaroundtheworld.

AnurudhfirstgothisideaforVaxxwagonin2014.Hereadseveraltextbookstolearneverythinghecouldaboutrefrigeration,andthenhedidresearchonlinetolearnmoreaboutvaccines.Ratherthanrelyingonelectricityorice,Anurudhfiguredoutawaytousewheelstopowerarefrigerationsystemforabouteighthours.Theentirerechargeablecoolingsystemcanbepulledtoareasinneedofvaccinesbyabicycle,acar,orananimal.Eventually,AnurudhtookhisdesigntoprofessorsatJohnsHopkinsUniversityforadvice.NotonlydidtheyconfirmVaxxwagoncouldwork,buttheyofferedhimfundingtohelpbuildit.
