Afterbecomingadoctorandworkingasacollegeinstructor,DrewwenttoColumbiaUniversity,whereheearnedhisDoctorofMedicalSciencedegree.Duringthistimehebecameinvolvedinresearchonbloodandbloodtransfusions(输血).
