TheMargaretMitchellHouseisabuildingthatoncecontainedseveralapartments.NowweenterthefirstfloorapartmentwhereMs.Mitchelllivedwithherhusband,JohnMarsh.Theymadefunofthesmallapartmentbycallingit“TheDump”.

Around1926,MargaretMitchellhadstoppedworkingasareporterandwasathomehealingafteraninjury.Herhusbandbroughtherbookstoreadfromthelibrary.Shereadsomanybooksthatheboughtheratypewriterandsaiditwastimeforhertowriteherownbook.OurguidesaysGonewiththeWindbecameahugesuccess.MargaretMitchellreceivedthePulitzerPrizeforthebook.In1939thefilmversionwasreleased.ItwontenAcademyAwards,includingBestPicture.
