Abstract:

ThenucleationofanisotropicSiislandsonreconstructedSi（100）（2*1）surfacehasbeenstudiedbycomputersimulation,inwhich,theanisotropicdiffusionratealongdifferentdirectionofthesubstrateisincluded.Someresultssuchanisotropicislandsformedatvarioussubstratetemperatures,thenumberofislands（includingsingleSidimers）withdifferentanisotropicdiffusion,areobtained.ItisshownthattheshapeandnumberofanisotropicSiislandsaredependentobviouslyonthesubstratetemperatureandtheanisotropicdiffusion.Thesimulationresultsareconsistentwiththeexperiment.

Foraclassofdiscrete-timelinearsystemswithnorm-boundedtime-varyingparameteruncertaintyandaquadraticcostindex,theproblemofdesigninganoptimalguaranteedcoststatefeedbackcontrollerisconsidered.Anecessaryandsufficientconditionfortheexistenceofguaranteedcostcontrollersisderived.Furthermore,itisshownthatthisconditionisequivalenttothesolvabilityproblemofasystemoflinearmatrixinequalities,anditssolutionsprovideaparametrizedrepresentationofguaranteedcostcontrollers.Thusthedesignproblemfortheoptimalguaranteedcostcontrollerisformulatedasaconvexoptimizationproblem,whichcanbesolvedbytheexistingconvexoptimizationtechniques.Finally,anexampleisgiventoillustratetheproposedresults.

TheeffectofannealingtreatmentonthecrystalstructureandelectrochemicalpropertiesofZr（Mn/sub0.25/V/sub0.20/Ni/sub0.55/）/sub2/andZr（Mn/sub0.05/V/sub0.40/Ni/sub0.55/）/sub2/hydrogenstoragealloyswasinvestigatedbymeansofXRDanalysisandelectrochemicaltests.TheresultsofXRDanalysisshowedthattheas-castalloysconsistofC15,C14typeLavesphaseandZr/sub9/Ni/sub11/andZrNiphases.Thecompositionofalloyshomogenizedafterannealingtreatment.TheC15typeLavesphaseisstillstablewhiletheZr/sub9/Ni/sub11/andZrNiphasesdecomposeandC14phasedisappearspartially.ThefinalstablestructureofthealloyswasamixturephaseofC15andC14typeLavesphases.Theresultsoftheelectrochemicaltestsshowedthatthedischargecapacityandthepropertiesofactivationaswellashigh-ratedischargeabilityareaildecreasedafterannealingtreatment.Theexchangecurrentdensitydecreasesinsomedegreetoo.

Thepropagationofultra-shortlightpulseswithnonlinearchirpandarbitraryamplitudeprofileistreatedbyusingfirst-orderandsecond-orderintensitymomentsintemporaldomain.AgeneralizedpulsecomplexparameterP/sup-1/isintroducedanditspropagationlawthroughdispersivesystemsisderived.ThepulsequalityfactorM/subtau//sup2/isintroduced.Asanexample,thepropagationofpulseswithsech-typeamplitudeprofilethroughdispersivemediaisincluded.Thismethodisprovedtobeasimplewaytotreatthepropagationofnon-gaussianpulsesthroughdispersivesystemcomparedwiththetemporalintegral.

Wepresentatimingoptimizationalgorithmbasedontheconceptofgateduplicationonthetechnology-decomposednetwork.Wefirstexaminetherelationshipbetweengateduplicationanddelayreduction,andthenintroducethenotionofduplicationgainforselectingthegoodcandidategatestobeduplicated.Theobjectiveistoobtainthemaximumdelayreductionwiththeminimumduplications.Theperformanceofthealgorithmisdemonstratedwithexperimentsonbenchmarkcircuits.Ourapproachcanalsobecombinedwithothertechnology-independenttimingoptimizers（suchasspeed-up）toachievefurtherdelayimprovement.
