Introduction

DNAtrendprovidesversatilemethodstobrowseandanalyzehistoricaldata.Itisinstrumentalinpredictingthestateoftheprocessinnearfutureandinfollowingtheprogressionofamodificationordisturbanceinprocess.

YoucanopenDNAtrendbyselectingitontheactionmenu.ThegraphstobeexaminedareselectedbydraggingtagsfromordinarypicturewindowstoDNAtrend.

YoucanperformthefollowingoperationsinDNAtrend:

WhenDNAtrendisopenedbyselectingthecorrespondingcommandontheactionmenu,thetrendofthetargetloopwillbeautomaticallydisplayed.

Proceedasfollows:

∙Right-clickthetargetloopinapicturewindowandselectDNAtrendontheactionmenu.DNAtrendwillopenonthedesktopinadedicatedwindow.

HowtoOpenaTrendPicture

Whenyouwanttoopenapreviouslysavedtrendpicture,proceedasfollows:

1.ClicktheOpenPicturebutton

onthetoolbar.Adrop-downlistcontainingthehierarchypathsofthesavedpictureswillopenbelowthebutton:

2.Clickthearrowbuttonandselectapictureonthelist.

OR

Clicktheboxandtypethehierarchypath.

3.PresstheENTERkey.TheselectedpicturewillopenintheDNAtrendwindow.

Ifthehierarchypathwasincorrect,thefollowingdialogwillappearonthedesktop:

ClickOKtoclosethedialog.

HowtoSaveaCopyofaTrendPicture

Youcansaveacopyofatrendpicturewithadifferentnameforlaterexamination.

Proceedasfollows:

1.ClicktheSaveAs..button

onthetoolbar.TheSavePicturedialogwillopenonthedesktop:

2.ClicktheNameboxandtypeanameforthetrendpicture.Ifyouwanttosavethepictureinahierarchy,enterthehierarchypathinfrontofthename.Forexample,inpathPM1/Drying/Trend1,PM1isthenameofthemodule,Dryingthenameoftheprocessarea,andTrend1thenameofthetrendpicturetobesaved.Thenameofthepicturecannotcontaincharacters<>&:

3.Ifyouwanttogivethepictureanoptionaltitle,youcanenteritintheTitlebox.

4.Ifyouwanttogivethepictureanoptionaldescription,youcanenteritintheDescriptionbox.

5.Ifyouwanttoretainthetrendpictureasitisatthetimeofsaving,clicktoselecttheSnapshotcheckbox.Ifthepictureislaterre-opened,itsdatawillnotberetrievedfromthedatasourcebutthesaveddatawillbeusedinstead.

6.Ifyouwantthetrendpicturetobeautomaticallydeletedafteragiventimehaselapsed,clicktoselecttheTemporaryPicturecheckboxandenterthestoragetimeindays.

Cancelcancelstheoperationandclosesthedialog.

7.ClicktheSavebutton.Adialogwillopenonthedesktoptoconfirmasuccessfulsave:

HowtoSaveaTrendPicture

TrendsdisplayedinDNAtrendcanbesavedastrendpictures.Whenyouhavemodifiedatrend,youcansavethechangesyoumade.

AtrendpicturedisplayedinDNAtrendcanbeeasilydeleted.

WhenyouwanttoprintthetrendpicturedisplayedinDNAtrend,proceedasfollows:

onthetoolbar.Thetrendpicturewillbeprintedinthedefaultprinter.

WhenyouwanttoseetheapplicationinformationaboutDNAtrend,proceedasfollows:

∙ClicktheAboutbutton

onthetoolbar.Adialogwillopenonthedesktop:

ClicktheOKbuttontoclosethedialog.

HowtoSettheStartandEndTime

Thestartandendtimeareusedtogetherwiththespantodefinetheintervalinwhichthetrendcanbeexamined.Theintervalcanbedefinedwiththeaccuracyofonesecond.

WhenDNAtrendisopened,thetransitionmomentdeterminesthevalueoftheendtime.Thespanislockedandatitsdefaultvalueof8hours.Thevalueofthestarttimeisdeterminedbytheendtimeandthespan（i.e.endtime-spanvalue）.

Sincethevaluesofthestarttime,endtimeandspanareinterrelated,onlytwoofthemcanbemodifiedatatimeandthethirdvalueislocked.Thelockbuttonandvalueboxesofthelockedvariableappeardimmed.Thelockedvariableisreleasedwheneitherofthemodifiablevariablesislockedbyclickingthecorrespondinglockbutton

Proceedasfollows:

1.Clickthevaluetobechangedinthedateortimebox.

2.Dooneofthefollowing:

∙Typeanewvalue.

∙Selectanewvaluebyclickingtheupanddownarrows.

∙SelectanewvaluebypressingtheUPandDOWNARROWkeys.

Alternatively,thecurrenttimecanbesetastheendtimebyclickingtheClockbutton

Thedatecanalsobesetwiththecalendarfunction:

1.Clickthearrowbuttonrighttothedatebox.Thecalendardialogwillopenonthedesktop:

2.Ifrequired,changethemonthwiththearrowbuttons.

3.Clickthedesireddayinthecalendar.Thedialogwillclose.

3.ClicktheRefreshbutton

orpresstheENTERkey.Thecoordinateswillbeupdatedtomatchthechangedvalues.

Changesinthestartorendtimevalueswillalsodirectlyaffecttheotherunlockedvalue.

HowtoSettheSpan

Bychangingthelengthofthespanyoucanaffectthepresentationaccuracyofthetrenddata.Thespancanbelockedorunlocked.Thelock/unlockbuttonindicatesthestateofthespan:

Locked

Thespandoesnotchangeifyouchangethestarttimeorendtime.Ifthespanislocked,itdoesnotchangeunlessyouspecificallychangeit.

Unlocked

-

Thespanchangesifyouchangethestartorendtime.Ifthespanisunlocked,itslengthisdeterminedbythestartandendtime.

Proceedasfollows:

1.Clickthearrowbuttonnexttothespanboxandselectthespanonthelist.

OR

Clickthespanboxandenteranewvalue.

2.ClicktheRefreshbutton

orpresstheENTERkey.Thecoordinateswillbeupdatedtomatchthechangedvalue.
