JimSilverofthetoyreviewsiteTTPMcalledRyana“celebrity”.Hesaid,“Kidswatchhisvideos.He’sentertaining.”ButSilversaidit“allcomesdowntothetoy”.Still,Ryan’smanyfollowerscouldproveprofitableforWalmart.AvideooftheboysearchingforRyan’sWorldtoysinWalmarthasnearly10millionviewsinamonth.

Officialfiguresrevealthat585,000driversinEnglandweretakentocourtlastyearformotoringoffences.Justundereightintenofthoseweremen-outnumberingwomenbyalmostfourtoone.Some23percentoftheseoffencesweremencaughtspeeding—significantlyhigherwomenat7percent.Menalsooutweighedwomenbyfivetoonewhenitcametodrinkdrivingoffencesandweretwiceaslikelytobedrivingwithouteithertaxorinsuranceaswomen.

Andmaledriverscostinsurersmorewhenitcomestoclaimspayouts,suggestingtheyhavebeeninmoreaccidentsthanwomen.In2017,twoofthreeinsuranceclaimsweremadebymen,ofwhich17percentwerefaultclaims.Incomparison,onlyoneinthreeclaimslastyearcamefromwomen—9percentofwhichwereatfault.

Andnotonlydomenmakemoreclaims,buttheytendtobealittlemoreexpensive.Theyclaimed£3,271perpayoutonaverage,whiletypicalpayoutforwomenwereslightlycheaperat£3,121.Thiscouldbedowntothefactthatmenoftenownmoreexpensivecars,withanaveragevalueof£8,654.Women,however,aredrivingaroundincarswithavalueof£7,090.
