Officialfiguresrevealthat585,000driversinEnglandweretakentocourtlastyearformotoringoffences.Justundereightintenofthoseweremen-outnumberingwomenbyalmostfourtoone.Some23percentoftheseoffencesweremencaughtspeeding—significantlyhigherwomenat7percent.Menalsooutweighedwomenbyfivetoonewhenitcametodrinkdrivingoffencesandweretwiceaslikelytobedrivingwithouteithertaxorinsuranceaswomen.
