A.GUIDANCEONQUALIFORREQUIREMENTS

TheobjectiveoftheserequirementsistoensurethatanyproductbearinganFSClabelorsoldasFSC-certifiedisproducedfrommaterialthatoriginatesfromcertifiedforests.

Thestandardisapplicablefromthepointatwhichacompanytakeslegalpossessionofmaterialinputsuntilthepointofsale.

Chain-of-custodycontrolsmustthereforebeimplementedatallcriticalcontrolpointsintheprocessunderevaluation.Criticalcontrolpointsarethosewherethereisasignificantriskofcertifiedmaterialsbecomingmixedwithuncertifiedmaterials,undereithernormalorabnormaloperatingconditions.

B.SCOPEOFCERTIFICATION

Thescopeoftheevaluationmustbeconfirmedwiththeclient.ThescopemustcovertheChain-of-Custodyfromwherethecompanytakesownership（start-point）towhereownershipistransferred（end-point）.Thescopeshouldbeacleardescriptionofthecertifiedinputs（certifiedrawmaterialorproduct）,ownershiporphysicalpossessionstatus,transportation,processing,manufacturing,labellingandsaleordispatchcoveredbytheevaluation.ThescopemustrefertotheProductGroupsschedule.

Thischecklistisapplicabletoallcompaniesmanufacturingmaterialandproductsincludingsawnwood（e.g.beams,planks）;chipandfibreproducts（e.g.pulp,paper,chipboard）andassembledproducts（e.g.furniture,plywood,veneer）.Thechecklistcanalsobeuseforcompaniesmanufacturingnon-timberproducts（e.g.Brazilnuts）.
