Thesexesdonotshopatthesameaislesthough.Expertssaythatwomenaremorelikelytobingebuythingslikeclothesorgiltsforotherpeople,whilementendtobuyexpensiveelectronics.Thissurveyisthefirsttofindsuchahighnumberofcompulsiveshoppersinthegeneralpopulation.
Studyauthorshopethatthisfindingcanconvincedoctorsofhowmanypeoplearehurtbythedisorder,sotheycanmakefindingacureapriority.
