521.couple的用法
couple夫妇、一对。
例句：

用法：
①couple的基本意思是“一对,一双”,指在一起或互有关系的两个人或物,但并不一定是同样的,其关系可分可合,是可数名词,常与of连用。
②couple作“夫妻”解是可数名词,其谓语动词可用单数,也可用复数形式。
③couple在非正式语体中还可作“一些,几个”解,用作单数名词,常与of连用。
接复数名词作主语时,谓语动词侧重整体用单数形式,侧重个体用复数形式。
④couple用作及物动词时接名词或代词作宾语,可用于被动结构。
couple偶尔也可用作不及物动词,宾语后面可接介词with或to,表示“结合在一起”。
比较：

cover覆盖、遮盖、走完（一段路）、看完（多少页书）、盖子、罩、封面。

④cover还可作“（一副）餐具,餐席（位）”解,cover用复数形式,其前加定冠词the，特指“毯子”“被子”。
比较：
（1）、Thehousebecoveredwith/bysnow.都有“遮盖、覆盖”之意，但含义不同，前者表示房屋全被雪覆盖了，后者表示雪覆盖了屋顶，房子还看得见。
（2）、cover指占地多少，覆盖的里程、面积等。

except除非；除了...之外；若不是
