Abstract
Thefamilyeducationisrelatedtoaperson’slife.Nowadays,socialdevelopmentneedshighqualifiedtalentsandgoodfamilyeducationisthekeypointtothehighqualifiedtalents.Becauseofthedifferentsocialsystems,culturebackgrounds,educationaimsandsoon,familyeducationforthechildrenaredifferentinmanyaspectsbetweenChinaandAmerica.Intheeducationprojectsoftrainingnewcenturytalentsintheworld,allthecountriesputfamilyeducationinaveryimportantposition.Althoughfamilyeducationnowattractssocialcircles’attention,especiallyeducationalcircles’attention,thefamilyeducationbetweenChineseandwesterncountriesstillhadalotofproblems.Thispaperpointsoutthemainproblemsintoday’sChinesefamilyeducationandwesterncountries.Bycomparing,thispaperpointsoutthedifferentfamilyeducationbetweenChinaandAmerica(mainlyonaspectsoffamilyeducation’scontents,aimsandmethods).Familyeducationaimsfortrainingthechildrenintowhatkindofpersonthattheeducationcontentsandmethodschooseaccordingtotheaims.Finally,thepaperputsforwardsomemethodsthatsuitChinesefamilyeducation.

摘要
家庭教育是关系到一个人的生活。
如今,社会发展需要的高素质人才和良好的家庭教育是高素质人才的关键点。
由于不同的社会制度,文化背景,教育目标等,为孩子的家庭教育是在中国和美国之间的许多方面有所不同。
所有的国家在世界上的新世纪人才的培训教育项目,把家庭教育中一个非常重要的地位。
虽然现在家庭教育,吸引了社会各界的关注,特别是教育界的重视,中国和西方的家庭教育,仍然有很多问题。
本文指出,在今天的中国和西方家庭教育存在的主要问题。
通过比较,本文指出,中国和美国(主要是家庭教育的内容,目标和方法等方面)之间的不同的家庭教育。
为孩子培养成什么样的人,教育内容和方法的目标选择根据家庭教育的目的。
最后,提出了适合中国家庭教育的一些方法。

I.Introduction
Fromancienttimestomoderntimes,familyeducationhasbeenplayinganimportantroleinthenationaleducationalcause.Thefamilyeducation,theschooleducationandthesocialeducationarethethreepartsofeducation.Theyareindispensable.
Atpresent,familyeducationmaintainsagoodmomentumofgrowthinChina.ItbecomesmoreandmoreimportanttoChinesefamilies.Nevertheless,therearestillalotofproblemsinfamilyeducation,thesystemisstillweak.Incurrentfamilyeducation,thereisstillmistakeofthemethod.Itmaybesummarizedas“threeexcess”and“oneexcessiveheight”:
thatis,someparentsareexcessivelyconcernedwiththechildren,excessivelyrestrainandpayattentiontothechildrenaffairs,excessivelycriticizethechildren,andsomethingexcessiveisexpectedofthechildren.Theseproblemsareinneedofsolution.Weallknow,ChinaisasocialistcountryandmostWesterncountriesbelongtocapitalistcountries.And,theyhavedifferenthistoryandcultures.ChinaadvocatesConfucianismandthewesterncountriesadvocatetherevivalofliteratureandart.Butthemostimportantpointisthattheirattitudeoffamilyeducationisalsodifferent.Inchina'
straditionalfamily,parentsplayaleadingrolewhilewesterncountriesmainlyemphasizestruggle,equality,democracyandhumanrights.
Inmodernsociety,familyeducationcontentsbecomevarious;
itincludesnotonlyfamilylifeeducation,familyrelationeducation,familymoralityeducation,butalsochildreneducation,parents’educationandsoon.Inthispaper,Iwilldiscusstheeducationofthechildren.
II.MainProblemsinToday’sChineseFamilyEducation
A.TheMistakeofParentinConceptionofValue
Achild’sconceptionofmoralityandvaluelearnsfromadult,especiallyfromhisparents.Soparentsaffectthechild’smindgreatly.“(i)Ifparentsalwayssaysomepositiveview,suchas,‘Moneymakesthemarego’or‘Moneytalks.’”[1]P23thechildmayformaconceptionthatpeopleliveinordertomakemoneywhichisawrongviewofvalue.(ii)Parentssometimesendorsesomewrongbehavior;
thechildmayformanideathatthosewrongbehaviorsareright.
Chineseparentswouldliketoprovideeverythingwhattheycanfortheirchildrenintheprocessofchildren’sgrowth.Inshort,theywouldliketosacrificeanythingiftheirchildrencanlivebetterwiththeirhelp.Therefore,intheprocessofchildren’sgrowth,themostimportantthingtheparentsconcerningistodevelopingtheirchildren’sintellect,exceptforcaringchildren’sdailylife.Inordertomaketheirchildrenhaveagoodperformanceinstudy,becomeoutstanding,orevenbecomeafamouspersoninthefuture,theywouldnotletchildrendoanythingexceptstudying.
B.TheExcessiveExpectationofChildren’sEducation
Chineseparentsproduceagreatimpactonchildren’sfuture.WhenababyborninaChinesefamily,hisparentsoftendesignafutureforhim,nomatterthechildlikesitornot.Thatistosay,Chineseparentswouldenforcetheirchildrenlivingunderthedesignedfutureinsteadofconsideringchildren’sfeelingsandabilities.“JustasPhierbahasays‘Parents’biggestfalseistheystandintheirpositionandinterferechildren’snaturedevelopment.’”[2]P24inChina,wecanfindthefollowingsceneseasily:
Parentstaketheirchildrentokindsoflessonsafterschool.Childrenwouldbepunishediftheydidn’tgetagoodmarkinexaminations.
ParentsinChinaonlycareaboutwhetherthechildrenhaveapromisingfuture,agoodjob,agoodlifeornot.Basedontheseexpectations,themajorityofparentsfeelthattheirresponsibilityfortheirchildrenistocreateasgoodconditionsaspossibletheycansothatthechildrenwillnotworryaboutanythinginthefuture.
C.RestrictTypeofFamilyEducation
InsomeChinesefamilies,parentsrequiretheirchildrenshoulddowhatevertheywanttheirchildrendo.Ifthechildrendidn’tdoastheirorder,theywillscoldthechildren,evenworse,theywillpunishthechildren.“Aquestionnaireof300studentsinamiddleschoolshows:

”[3]P24.Theycan’tbearthatchildrendidn’tobeythem.Theyrestricttheirchildren.Theychecktheirchildren’scellphonewhenchildrenforgetitathome.
Theyprotecttheirchildrenexcessivelyinsocialactivities.Manyparentsfearthattheirchildrenwillfacealotofdifficultiesorbecomebadboysinthesociety;
theyalwaysreducetheirchildren’schancestocontactwithsocietyordonotletthemgototheoutsidealone.Oncethereisadisputeoranunpleasantthinghappenedbetweentheirchildren,theyusuallydonotliketolearnthetruthbutonlyaccuseothers.Thatmakesthedisputeintoaseriouslyconflictoradisputeamongparents.Theseparentsalwaysareproudofwhattheydidfortheirchildren,becausetheythinkthattheyhavesafeguardedtheinterestsoftheirchildren.But,infact,theydonotrealizedthatwhattheydidfortheirkidshaveanegativeeffectonthechildren’sgrowthbecausethesebehaviorshavedeprivedoftheirchildren’srightandopportunitiestoexperiencethelifewhattheyshouldlearnintheearlyage.Andtheymaybehavenochancestolearnhowtodistinguishbetweenrightandwrong.
D.CarelessofFamilyEducation
Itusuallyreferstoparentswholackofresponsibilitytotakecareoftheirchildren.Youngparentsareworkinghardtomakemoney.Theydon’thaveenoughtimetogetalongwiththeirchildren.Accordingtoasurvey,thechildrenwhoseparentsareindividualtaxidriverorlaborcontractorbreakthelaweasily.Themainreasonistheparentsmentionedabove,whohavefewtimeathome.Eventheyareathome,theyseldomputtheirheartsontheirchildren.Theysimplythinkiftheyprovideagoodlivingconditionfortheirchildren,theywillbecomeatalent.Thistypeoffamilyeducationisdangerous.Children’sthoughtisnotmatureenoughtojudgeallthethingsinarightway.Itiseasyforchildrentochoosethewrongway.
