sthefourthnovelamonghisworksthatgotpublishedintheearlieryears.Itisalsothefirstnovelthatcentersaroundasinglecharacter,itisakindoforganizationalstructurethatheusedmanytimesinhisfollowingnovels.Wecansay“FarfromtheMaddingCrowd”isthecornerstoneofTomasHardy'

snovels.

ThisnovelofHardydepictakindoffit,braveandremarkablystrongwomenwhogobeyondthetraditionaldefinitionandfullypresentthenovel---FarfromtheMaddingCrowd,wecangetadetailedanalysesonthesexualideologybetweenmanandwoman,andalsosbetterunderstandingonthewoman'
