ScientistsfromtheGlobalCropDiversityTrustchosethecold,snowymountainsofSvalbard,Norwaytobuildtheglobalseedbank—theSvalbardGlobalSeedVault(斯瓦尔巴全球种子库).Organizations,farmers,orlocalseedbanksstoretheirextraseedsthere.Andthepeoplewhoplacetheirseedsinthevaultaretheonlypeoplewhocantakethemout.TheypaytoshiptheirseedstoNorway,butitdoesnotcostthemanymoneytostoretheirseeds.TheGlobalCropDiversityTrustpaysforthis.
