Mother’sDayisatimeofmemoryandcelebrationforMom.TheearliestMother’sDaycelebrationsdatebacktoancientGreeceinhonourofRhea,theMotherofGods.Duringthe1600s,Englandcelebratedadaycalled“motheringSunday”.CelebratedonthefourthSundayofLent(四旬斋),“motheringSunday”honouredthemothersEngland.
