Sinceitsconception,theOscarstatuettehasmetexactinguniformstandards-withafewnotableexceptions.Inthe1930s,juvenileplayersreceivedminiaturereplicas*ofthestatuette;aventriloquist*EdgarBergenwaspresentedwithawoodenstatuettewithamoveablemouth;andWaltDisneywashonoredwithonefull-sizeandsevenminiaturestatuettesonbehalfofhisanimatedfeatureSnowWhiteandtheSevenDwarfs.Between1942and1944,insupportofthewareffort,Oscarsweremadeofplaster.AftertheWar,winnersturnedinthetemporaryawardsforgoldenOscarstatuettes.
