In1903,MordecaiBrownbrokeintoMajorLeagueBaseballwhenhesignedwiththeSt.LouisCardinals.Onlyayearlater,themanagementoftheCardinalsdecidedthatMordecai’sdisabilitywouldkeephimfromeverbecomingastarpitcher.TheytradedhimtotheChicagoCubs.
