Afterdroppingoutofcollegedecadesago,hefoundhimselfinaseriesoflow-paying,oftenback-breakingjobs.Herecentlydecidedtogethisdegreewhenhehadhisfirstchildandwantedtostartbuildingabetterlife.

TuckedawayinanindustrialparkinTempe,RioSaladodidn’tlookmuchlikeatraditionalinstituteofhighereducation.Therewerenostudentsrunningtoclass.Justacoupleofglass-facedofficebuildings.Thecollegehadjust22full-timefacultyserving60,000students,withmorethanhalfofthemattendingclassesonline.
