theinfluenceofteachers’attitudesonstudents’Englishlearninginjuniorschools.Thethesistalksaboutthemeaningofattitude,Englishteachers’differentattitudes,themostimportantisEnglishteachers’unsuitableattitudesandthereasons,thenproposestheappropriateattitudesthatteachersshouldhave.
ThepurposeofthethesisisthatteachersshouldestablishagoodrelationshipwithstudentsandenhancethequalityofEnglishteaching.

摘 要
随着英语的普遍使用,中国也在大力发展英语教育事业。
提高学生的英语水平也成为学校教育的一个重要内容。
影响学生英语学习的因素有很多,除了学生自己的努力,家长的督促教导,教师的教学方法等因素之外,教师的态度也是至关重要的。
正如俗语所说:
态度决定一切。
教师以什么样的态度对待工作,决定着工作的成败,以什么样的态度对待学生,决定着学生能否健康成长。
本文研究的是教师的态度对初中学生英语学习的影响。
文章从态度的定义,教师不同的态度表现指出当前初中英语教学中教师存在的不恰当的态度,并分析其原因,最后提出了教师对待学生应有的正确态度。
通过本课题的研究,目的是要建立一种和谐的师生关系,提高英语教学质量。

Introduction
Thispaperaimstoanalyzeteachers’differentattitudestotreattheirstudents.Eitherpositiveornegativeattitudewillmakegreataffectiononmiddleschoolsstudents’Englishlearning.
Withtheglobaleconomicintegration,it’smoreobviousthatforeignlanguageshavegreataffectionuponalltheaspectsofhumanlife.Thereforeit’stheessentialdemandfortheciviliancompetencetohaveagoodcommandofaforeignlanguageinthenewcentury.
Secondly,EnglisheducationhasalonghistoryinChina.MostofushavelearnedEnglishsincewewereinprimaryschool.WiththeopeningofChina,Englishteachinghasbeengettingmoreandmoreattention.EspeciallysinceChinajoinedtheWorldTradeOrganizationandBeijingwonthebidtoholdthe2008OlympicGames.NowEnglishoccupiestheattentionofmillionsofChinesepeople.
Englishteachingisapopulartopicinourcountry.Manyexpertshavedonemassiveresearchonthestudents’Englishlearninginmiddleschools.So,howtobringstudent'senthusiasmintofullplayandenhancetheirEnglishaccomplishments?
Expertspointoutthatinteachingmethodaspects:
Therewere“thehappyteachingmethod”,“thedirectmethod”,“thecognitiveapproach”,“theoralapproach”,“thegrammar—translationmethod”andsoon;someexpertsproposedEnglishinitiationisimportantespecially,thereforeourcountrypaymoreattentiontothebabyEnglisheducation;someexpertsproposedthattheymustenhancethequalityandabilitiesofteachers;andsomeexpertssaid,theteachersshouldtreattheirstudentsequallyjustliketreatingtheirownchildren.
ButtherearestillsomeproblemsinEnglishteaching.Suchas:
manystudentseventhecollegestudentscannotexpressthemselvessmoothlyandunderstandothersclearlyinanEnglish-onlyenvironment.ThelackofqualifiedEnglishteachersisanotherimportantproblem.AqualifiedEnglishteachershouldtakespecialtrainingcoursesandhaveenoughknowledgeofEnglish.However,inmanymiddleschools,teacherswhodon’thavequalificationofEnglishteachingarestillgivingclassestotheirstudents.Theyeventeachtheirstrongaccenttothestudents.
Theseproblemsmakegreataffectiononstudents’Englishlearning,butbesidesthese,teachers’attitudesareimportanttoo.Especiallyinjuniorschools,Englishteachersdonotrespectstudents,theymakeafavoriteofthestudentswhoaregoodatEnglishlearning,andtheirattitudesaren’tequal.Thisthesisisbasedontheteachers’attitudes.
Ⅰ.AttitudeandTeachers’Attitudes
Beforeresearchteacher'sattitudes,wemustunderstandthemeaningofattitude.Whatisattitude?
Socialpsychologistsgenerallydefineattitudesasrelativelylastingclustersoffeelings,beliefs,andbehaviortendenciesdirectedtowardspecificpersons,ideas,objects,orgroups.
Thewordattitude(fromLatin)isdefinedwithintheframeworkofsocialpsychologyasasubjectiveormentalpreparationforaction.Itdefinesoutwardandvisibleposturesandhumanbeliefs.Attitudesdeterminewhateachindividualwillsee,hear,thinkanddo.Theyarerootedinexperienceanddonotbecomeautomaticroutineconduct.
Attitudemeanstheindividual'sprevailingtendencytorespondfavorablyorunfavorablytoanobject(personorgroupofpeople,institutionsorevents).Attitudescanbepositiveornegative.Socialpsychologistsdistinguishandstudythreecomponentsoftheresponses:
thefirstiscognitivecomponent,whichistheknowledgeaboutanattitudeobject,whetheraccurateornot;thesecondisaffectivecomponent:
feelingstowardstheobjectandthethirdisconativeorbehavioralcomponent,whichistheactiontakentowardstheobject.
Soteacher'sattitudetowardstudentsisarelativelyenduringorientationthatteacherdevelopstowardstudentsandtheirbehaviors.
A.TheImportanceofSchoolEnvironment
Generallyspeaking,“Teacherisengineerofhumansouls",Teachersarethemostimportantinsocialeducation.Theschoolenvironmenthasbeendescribedas"thesecondmostimportantsocialenvironmentforthechildafterfamily".Hence,itcanalsobesaidthattheteacheristhesecondmostimportantfigureinthechild'slifeafterfamily.
B.FactorsAffectingTeachers’Attitude
Manyelements,internalandexternal,canaffectteacherattitude.Teacher'sownfeaturesisthemostinternalinfluentelement,whiletheexternalfactorsincludestudents'influence,therelationshipwithpeersandstudents'parentsandsoon.
Students'characteristics,appearance,school-lifeperformanceandforthon,allcanaffectteacher'sattitudetowardthem.Usually,tosomeextent,inevitably,teacherswillfavorthestudentswhoarelikehim,whocangethighacademicachievement.Wecan'tsayitiswrong,butasateacher,heistheteacherofthewholeclass,notsomecertainstudents.Soheshoulddecreasethedegreeoflikingcertainstudents.
Ontheotherhand,ifateachercan'tgetalongwillwithpeers,hemusthavetheneedtoworkoffthenegativefeelingsonhisstudentsortousestudentstofulfillhisownemotionalandsocialneeds.Ifateachercan'tgetonwellwithsomestudent'sparents,ashemightfeelintellectuallyorsocially,superiortothem,hecanhardlyavoidinappropriateattitudetowardthatstudent.
Itisalmostimpossibleforateacher'sattitudetowardstudentstoavoidinfluencesfromotherfactors.Butwhatagoodteachershoulddoistominimizethoseunfavorableinfluencessothathecanadopttheattitudebeneficialtothestudents,totherelationshipbetweenhimandthestudents,tohisteachingandstudent'slearning.
C.TheDifferentAttitudesofTeachers
Certainly,teachershavealotofattitudes.Suchas:
attitudeoflife,attitudeofwork,attitudeofprofession,attitudeofteaching.Inthisthesis,whatItalkaboutisteachers’attitudeswhichtheytreatstudents.Particularly,thestudentsofjuniorschoolswhoareveryyoung,sensitive,rebelandself-respect,soteacher’sattitudesandguidanceareespeciallyimportantforthem.
ThereisauniversalphenomenonwhichistheEnglishteacherspaymoreattentiontotheresultgoodstudents,butneglectthebadresultstudentsinthepresentEnglishteachingofjuniorschools.Certainly,wecannotsayteachersdonotrightly,whodoesn'tliketheintelligentchildren?
Butweshouldthinkforthefutureofthosebadresultstudents,theyarenotgoodatEnglishlearningmaybetheyhaven’tworkhard,maybecareless,orotherreasons.Buttheyspendalargeportionoftheirdayatschoolwheretheyhavedirectcontactwithteachersandclassmatestogether,ifteachersgiveupthem,howgreatinjurytheywillbebeard?
