foolish侧重“愚蠢”,多用来指人,也可以指行为,多指因为缺乏智慧或判断力而造成;
silly多用于口语,比foolish语气重,指极端的和明显的“愚蠢”,有令人觉得“糊涂”的含
意,有时也可以指“傻气;憨;不懂事”,指行为、言语等时有“无聊的;无意义的”含意。
5.insteadof意为“代替,作为……的替换”
是复合介词，后接名词、代词、动词的-ing形式或介词短语等，
instead是副词，一般放在句首或句末。
而insteadof是介词短语，表示“代替”时，含有“对比”的意思，其后常跟名词、代词或v-ing形式。
如：

杰克没有学法律，而是决定作一名演员。
