短语动词的种类，在现代英语中，动词之后加介词或副词构成的短语，表达一种特定的含义，称为短语动词。

短语动词如果被拆开，则不能表达这种特定的含义。

根据其构成，把短语动词分成以下几种类型：

动词+介词：

动词+副词：

动词+名词+介词：

在这类短语动词中，宾语都要放在介词之后）

动词+形容词+介词：

动词+副词+介词：

lookforwordto,fallinlovewith,catchupwith,keepupwith,getonwith等等。
