短语动词的种类,在现代英语中,动词之后加介词或副词构成的短语,表达一种特定的含义,称为短语动词。

短语动词如果被拆开,则不能表达这种特定的含义。

根据其构成,把短语动词分成以下几种类型:

动词+介词:

agreewith,arrivein/at,beginwith,comefrom,feellike,fallbehind,falloff,getto,geton,getoff,hearof,laughat,lookat,lookafter,lookfor,listento,waitfor,dealwith,dependon,

动词+副词:

动词+名词+介词:

在这类短语动词中,宾语都要放在介词之后)

动词+形容词+介词:

beangrywith,bebusywith,begoodfor,bebadfor,bedifferertfrom,belatefor,befriendlyto,begoodat,beinterestedin,befamousfor,beshortfor.

动词+副词+介词:

lookforwordto,fallinlovewith,catchupwith,keepupwith,getonwith等等。

动词+名词:
