用法：

criticize的基本意思是“评论”,指识别某人或某物的优缺点,有时还含有非难或挑剔的意味。

criticize既可用作不及物动词,也可用作及物动词。

用作及物动词时,常接人、理论、路线等作宾语,很少接“懒惰”“急躁”等作宾语。

criticize后不能接that引起的从句。

如：

curse（v/n）诅咒；

例句：

418.attention的用法

attention注意。

例句：

①Shesoonbecomesthecentreof attention.她很快成为大家注意的人物。

②Youshouldfocusyour attention onyourwork.你应该把注意力放到工作上。

③Shegaveheragingparentsmuch attention.她悉心照料年迈的双亲。

短语：

用法：

①一般来说，要表达引起某人对某事的注意时，用call/drawone's attention to。

表示用某事引起某人注意时，用bringthemattertoone's attention，注意两者不可倒过来使用。

如：

Hewantstocallherattentiontothematter.他想引起她对这事情的注意。

不可以说Iwanttobringhisattentiontothematter.

②pay attention to是固定的搭配词组，不可以用其他介词替换，如pay attention on。

除了指“注意”，pay attentionto还指“向女子献殷勤”，如payhis attentionstothegirl.要注意his后的attentions用的是复数形式；attention前可加great,little,much,special,no等修饰词。

③有时候pay attention to后不直接加宾语，而是加动名词，to作为介词。

419.attitude的用法

attitude态度、看法。

例句：

用法：

①attitude后常接towards/to，指“对于……的态度，看法”，如her attitude towards/tothequestion（她对这个问题的看法）。

值得注意的是，因上面例子中的宾语是question，有时候可以用on代替to，如her attitude onthequestion。

②attitude的基本意思是“态度,看法”,指一个人的态度、心态、感觉及想法等,作此解时常与介词to或towards连用,表示“对…的态度或看法”。

③attitude也可作“姿态,姿势”解,是正式用语。

④attitude前用介词in时常与静态动词搭配使用,用介词with时常与动态动词搭配使用。

420.attract的用法

attract吸引、引起。

短语：

attractone’sattention（to）=drawone’sattention（to）引起某人的注意；beattractedby被……所吸引；attractto 把…引向；attracttosb 对…有吸引力；attracttowards 把…引向；attractwithlamps 以灯火引诱；

用法：

①和attract有相似意思的tempt指“引诱，诱惑”，有时候两个词容易混淆。

如：

Thesceneryattractedhertoloiterontheway.路上的风景引诱她一直在徘徊。

②attract的基本意思是“吸引”,引申表示“引起…注意”。

其原因可以是吸引者具有吸引力的性质或特性，也可以是被吸引者对施动者具有吸引力或对施动者的影响非常敏感。

当指人的异性吸引时,表示激起被吸引人强烈的羡慕或者唤起爱情或欲望。

③attract主要用作及物动词。

主语可以是人,也可以是物,还可以是beauty、goodness等抽象名词。

宾语可以是人,也可以是物,还可以是attention、glances等抽象名词。

attract偶尔可用作不及物动词,是“具有吸引力”“引人注意”的意思。

④attract多用于一般时态,可用于被动结构。
