someofthepeoplewhowerekeepingthisspecieshereaccidentallyorintentionallyreleasedthem.”Asaresultofenoughofthebirdsbeingsetfree,itallowedanewself-sustainingpopulationtobeestablishedinthiscity.

ThegovernmentofDr.Gibson’scityhasmadeitillegaltocapturethespecies,eventhoughitisanon-nativespecies.Becausethecityisaffluentandrelativelywelleducated,thecaseofpeoplebreakingthelawareextremelyrare,explainedDr.Gibson.UnlikeinitsnativerangeinIndonesiawherecapturingbirdsformsamajorsourceofincome.
