Ablue-collarworkerisamemberoftheworkingclasswhoperformsmanuallabor.Blue-collarworkmayinvolveskilledorunskilled,manufacturing,mining,construction,mechanical,maintenance,technicalinstallationandmanyothertypesofphysicalwork.Blue-collarworkisoftenpaidhourlywage-labor,althoughsomeprofessionalsmaybepaidbytheprojectorsalaried.Thereisawiderangeofpayscalesforsuchworkdependinguponfieldofspecialtyandexperience.

White-collarworkerstypicallyperformworkinanofficeenvironmentandmayinvolvesittingatacomputerordesk.Serviceworkers,orpink-collarworkers,makeupathirdtypeofworker.Theirlaborisrelatedtocustomerinteraction,entertainmentsalesorotherservice-orientedwork.
