当我们需要对事物作出比较时，需要用到比较级。
比较级的句子结构通常是：
什么+动词be+形容词比较级+than+什么,如：
I’mtallerandheavierthanyou.
Anelephantisbiggerthanatiger.
形容词的比较级是在形容词的基础上变化而来的，它的变化规则是：
①一般的直接在词尾加er，如tall-taller,strong-stronger,②以e结尾的，直接加r，如fine–finer,
③以辅音字母加y结尾的，先改y为i再加er，如funny-funnier④双写最后的字母再加er，如big–bigger,thin–thinner,
hot–hotter
什么叫开音节？
开音节分两种，一种叫绝对开音节，相对开音节。
①绝对开音节：
单个元音字母后面没有辅字组的重读音节。
例如：
noblueba-bystu-dentse-cret.
②相对开音节：
单个元音字母后面加单个辅音字母，再加一个不发音字母e构成的重读音节。
例如：
namethesebikehomeex-cuse.
什么叫闭音节？
单个元音字母后面有辅字组且以辅字组结尾的重读音节。
例如：
bageggfishnotcup
英语读音--->开音节和闭音节
1．开音节
1）以发音的元音字母结尾的单节。
例：
be，he。
2）以辅音字母+不发音的e结尾的音节。
例：
make，like。
*在重读的开音节中元音字母按字母名称读音。
2．闭音节
以一个或几个辅音字母结尾而中间只有一个元音字母的音节，
称为闭音节。
例：
map，desk，is。
*在重读的闭音节中元音字母读做短元音。
除此之外，还有几个特殊的单词，它的比较级和最高级都是不规则的，如：
many/much–more–most
little/few–less–least
good–better–best
bad–worse–worst
far–further–furthest
附加：
形容词的最高级变化类似于比较级，只是把词尾的er改成est，如：
tall-taller-tallest
long-longer-longest
big-bigger-biggest
☆注意☆比较的两者应该是互相对应的可比较的东西。
典型错误：
Myhairislongerthanyou.
比较的两者是我的头发、你，那么比较的对象就没有可比性。
应该改为：
Myhairislongerthanyours.或Myhairislongerthanyourhair.附：
如果比较的两者是一样的时候，我们会用as…as…这个词组，它的用法是：
什么+be+as+形容词原形+as+什么，意思是什么和什么一样……。
如：
I’mastallasyou.

形容词比较级的用法
1、形容词比较级：
在英语中，两者进行比较，强调”一方比另一方……”，可使用”be动词+形容词比较级＋than”结构
2、需要掌握的形容词比较级的形式：
tall,taller,short,shorter,old,older,young,younger,
strong,stronger,heavy,heavier,long,longer,thin,thinner,
big,bigger,small,smaller.
