Thetrendtowardlessweightgainamongdrinkersdoesn’tappeartoholdtrueformen.A2003studyofBritishmenshowedthatregulardrinkersgainedmoreweightthannondrinkers.Theremaybedifferencesinhowmenandwomenmetabolize(代谢)alcohol.Metabolicstudiesshowthataftermendrinkalcohol,theyexperiencelittleifanymetabolicchange.Butalcoholappearstoslightlyspeedupawoman’smetabolism.
